Adding FTP Users
- Go to the Login page of the Manage Site
Interface i.e.
http://wwwDOTicannbudgetDOTorg/managesite
- Login using the "Default User's" Username and
Password. You can also use any other FTP User's details who has been given
System Admin rights
- Click on the "FTP User Manager" icon
- Click on the "Add FTP User" button
- Choose a "Username". The username can contain
only alphabets and numbers. The first character of the username must be an
alphabet. Note that the username is case sensitive
- Enter the "Password" to be assigned to this
User. The password can be up to 20 characters in length
- Select the "Quota" to be allotted in MB to
this user. The quota allotted to the user cannot be greater than the quota allotted to
your website
- Select the "Home Directory" for this FTP User.
The user will automatically be chrooted to this directory i.e. his access will
be restricted to this directory and all its sub-directories. This user will
not be able to access any files in a parent directory. The "Home Directory"
has to exist at the time of adding the user. Note that you have to enter the
path after /domains/wwwDOTicannbudgetDOTorg/ in the "Home Directory" text box.
For example, suppose you want the FTP User to be chrooted to /domains/wwwDOTicannbudgetDOTorg/web/project1
then you need to type "web/project1" in the textbox and not the preceding
/domains/wwwDOTicannbudgetDOTorg/
- You can choose to make this user a "System
Admin" by ticking the system admin checkbox. This will give the user access to
all parts of your Manage Site Interface over and above FTP access to your
website.
- Click the "Submit" Button. Voila! you have
just added an FTP User.
